An original watercolour painting by Sarah Wallace-Smith on Saunders Waterford paper 300GSM
Archival framing, in Victorian Ash
I've been thinking about growing up on a sheep station...and what came before.
Big, wet watercolour is so much fun to work with! It is this sexy dance between urgency and patience. I love it! I love that I don't have time to wonder about the outcome, I'm just working in the moment. It is the complete opposite to my drawing practice, slowly building up the layers, imagining the folds of wool, feathers and underlying flesh....very calming, very zen!
