This arrangement of fruit and flowers simply begged to be drawn. If you look closely, you can still see parts of my initial, impulsive 'blind contour' drawing in places. I often erase the graphite, but this time, I felt it added another element, before overlaying it with washes of water and pigment.

I find these colours are so potent, stirring up equal measure of memory and hope. 

This is an original watercolour painting on Arches 300gsm paper. Victorian Ash hand crafted archival framing to measure 74.5cm x 93.5cm.
