"This delicate watercolour is inspired by house tiles found @valentinesantiquesgallery, life on the farm and the amazing photography of Australian photographer, Mark Sanders. I really enjoyed dragging out my nan's old magnifying glass to help me work on the fine detail.
I was wondering what sort of house the tiles came out of, and what the garden might have been like.
Working on these intricate pieces allows me to slow right down and work both sides of my brain when I repeat mirror imaged patterns like this. I find it's always easier painting one way. Its opposite can be quite tricky."
